Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Wouldn’t you just love to write a truly incredible wedding speech, that’s going to be remembered for a very, very long time?
So what’s next?…
I know…
You’re at the stage where you’ve been given the honour of being asked to make a wedding speech, and while you won’t want to let anyone down, you don’t know what to do or where to go.
Every speech writer faces the obvious and inevitable question: What am I going to say in my speech? For anyone aspiring/contemplating to be a successful speech writer, the tips that follow may be give you an idea of where to start and prove useful to you.
You may have some basic ideas, but haven’t quite had that ‘light bulb’ or Eureka brainwave moment that’s written your speech for you. Alternatively, you may be just too busy with work or your mind may be completely blank, but you’d dearly love and really want to deliver a powerful speech in front of friends and family and avoid embarrassment.
You’ve had a couple of great speech ideas nestling in the back of your mind. You may even have thought that they were the foundations of a truly inspirational speech. You yearn for the thrill of expressing yourself in front of friends and family. Yet you’ve not done anything about it! And you keep postponing it until the big wedding day is almost upon you.
So what’s next? You need to make the decision to take MASSIVE ACTION and move forward with your speech. Most people only do this once in a lifetime – so you need to make the most of it.
The key isn’t just about the speech, but it’s the whole package, from preparation and planning, having a positive attitude to life, mental rehearsal, practice, and finally delivery.
Have you ever admired those successful people who can give a speech, and seem to ooze with self confidence and charisma and ‘have it all’?
If you don’t see yourself as the world’s greatest orator or speech giver, don’t worry, help is on hand. Conventional wisdom has made us believe that only successful, wealthy, extrovert people make the best speeches. Rubbish! The truth is that conventional wisdom should be discarded. It’s just not accurate. All sorts of people can make fantastic speeches.
You may believe that making a great speech requires an alchemist’s formula reserved for the genius. Well, here’s the good news, it doesn’t!
The thing to understand is that there is no universal template and no one set of common characteristics to give an awe-inspiring speech. at the core, you must have a passion for the ideas behind the speech. If the ideas don’t turn you on, you’ll find it very hard to motivate yourself to do the speech.
Passion, in short, is what should be the basis of your speech. And anyone can find something they are passionate about.
For example, think about events in your life, difficult times in the families history, fun times you’ve had with bride or groom, embarrassing or risque moments.
Write these ideas down, and use these as the basis for the next step in Wedding Speech Ideas (Part 2)
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.
This ‘frequency following’ response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ‘entrain’ to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.
On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.
Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.
THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ‘mind-tripping’, enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.
While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.
We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person’s starting position, entrainment can be rather ‘hit and miss’.
If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you’re probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain’s strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.
