Brainwave Entrainment Clear Your Chakras Using Brainwave Entrainment

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

We all have them and they come in the seven colours of the rainbow and they are called Chakras.

We can’t see them, unless we specifically train ourselves with something like a brainwave entrainment recording, and we can’t feel them, yet, they affect our body functions, developmental stages in life, our level of consciousness, and our spiritual connection.

If these chakras are imbalanced or blocked, we suffer mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

So What Are They?

There is a human energy field or aura that surrounds and penetrates your human body.
Rivers of energy from the universal energy field stream through meridians that nourish your body.
This river of energy flows through seven wheel shaped, spinning vortexes called chakras.
Chakras absorb energy from the universal energy field and send it to your organs and cells.
A chakra is the entry gate of the aura and points on the body that absorbs life-force energy, receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy.

The Seven Chakras

First Chakra-THE ROOT-Colour Red

Foundation for your life.
Is the chakra of manifestation. The law of attraction is stimulated when this chakra is open.
Sends energy from the earth up through the body and into each of the other chakras.
If this chakra is blocked or imbalanced, so will all the others be.
Represents instinct, survival, passion, sexuality, security, and all the basics of life.
When this chakra is healthy, or in tune, you feel secure, and accepted in a group or community.
Stores memories from this lifetime and past lifetimes.
Is your connection between body and earth.
Primary function is survival.

Second Chakra-SACRAL-Colour Orange

This chakra, when open, helps you express feelings and your sexuality appropriately.
Is associated with emotional security, sensuality, and sexuality.
Helps you feel creative and lets you experience joy and love in your life.
You assert and fulfill your desires from this chakra…a most importance factor in gaining social acceptance.
Gives you the ability to accomplish goals.

Third Chakra-SOLAR PLEXUS-Yellow

Represents your self-esteem, personal power, self-determination, self-empowerment, intellect, and destiny.
Is a place of high emotion and high energy.

Fourth Chakra-HEART-Green

When open, this chakra helps you deal with social situations.
You enjoy warm, healthy, and long lasting relations.
Give and receive love.
Forgive yourself and others.

Fifth Chakra-THROAT-Blue

This chakra helps you express yourself…the power of speech.
When open, you are able to say what it is that you are feeling.
It represents taking responsibility for asking for what you need.

Sixth Chakra-THIRD EYE or BROW-Indigo

Seat of thought, reasoning, insight, and intellect.
This chakra helps you to understand and draw wisdom from life’s lessons.
Gives you insight, intuition, and the ability to visualize.

Seventh Chakra-CROWN-White or Purple

This chakra represents your connection to your spiritual essence.
Wisdom, self-awareness of existence as part of your higher self.
Finds purpose and meaning in life.
When open, when praying or meditating, you can feel the spiritual presence within.

To enhance your spiritual, mental, and physical bodies, your chakras need to be able to flow energy from below and above, freely.

Brainwave entrainment will stimulate each of the chakras at their own vibrational frequency to shift your spiritual energy. Specialized recordings can unblock imbalances and stabilize the chakra.

Tuning with sound and brainwave entrainment, is a speedy way to charge and balance your chakras so that each area that they represent will be working at its best.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ‘frequency following’ response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ‘entrain’ to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ‘mind-tripping’, enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person’s starting position, entrainment can be rather ‘hit and miss’.

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you’re probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain’s strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

We all have questions…and we don’t always have the means, or the people to help us find the answers. Maybe you want to know what your purpose is here on earth.

Or maybe you want to know if old Auntie Pearl is relaxing in heaven or ruling in, well… you know where I mean.

Or maybe you need to know if you should quit your job and join a political party, or whether you should marry “Bob” or “Jenny.”

Getting access to the place of all consciousness, let’s call it the Universe, is not something we usually can do without devoting years to a meditative practice. It’s not easy, but it’s where some of those answers may be.

Leaving your conscious mind and tapping into your subconscious mind is possible though, without having to give up your normal life and living in a buddhist colony, when you use a brainwave entrainment recording to access the brainwave frequency alpha, used in meditation.

Entrainment is a fast, easy, and an effective way to synchronize your brainwaves to the alpha brain wave frequency-which is the gateway to the super conscious, a place that just might have an answer or two.

Brainwave entrainment uses audio and/or visual pulses as a rhythmic stimulus that induces the brain to entrain or follow a certain frequency to produce a certain effect or change in consciousness.

How To Receive An Answer Using Brainwave Entrainment

Asking your question is not the difficult part. Receiving your answer is where it gets a little more involved.

In your normal, waking state, you are in a frequency called beta wave. This wave is fast, helps you concentrate during the day, and fully engages your conscious mind.

This mind won’t let you receive your answer.

What you need to do is change your brainwave frequency to alpha so that you can access the subconscious mind, the home of your sixth sense. This is the same frequency that matches with what is called the earth’s heartbeat, the Schumann Resonance, a permanent standing wave in the atmosphere that resonates between the earth’s surface and the ionosphere, at predominantly 7.8 hertz.

This frequency is where your answer to your question will appear-not in words so much, but in symbols, the language of the subconscious.

• Choose a specially designed brainwave entrainment recording that puts you into an alpha brainwave state.

• Put your headphones on, even if you’re using Isochronic Tones to quell any distractions, and find a quiet, relaxed place.

• Sit on a chair or on the floor. Keep your back straight so that you don’t fall asleep so easily.

• Clear your mind. If you go into this with worry or anger, you’ll stay in the beta wave. Beta wave dissolves alpha waves. Any words you hear, here, are coming from you, not the Universe.

• When your mind is clear, ask your question.

• Now turn your attention to your breathing.

• Breathe through your nostrils. Don’t try to control your pattern, just notice the breathing going in and out. Focus on the sensation of breathing. Thoughts will come but watch them and keep bringing your focus back to your breathing.

• This will be a hard skill to develop, but with entrainment, you will train your mind to relax and enter alpha.

• Your answer will come but very rarely will it appear in words. The subconscious mind’s language is in the form of symbols, so your answer may come as an impression.

• Don’t try to figure out what the impression means. Continue with the recording.

• When the recording is finished, write down your feelings, impressions, and any words that came to you. Hopefully, you will have some insight into the question you wanted answered.

We all have our ‘big days’. Days of high excitement when we know we are going to be busy and we are not going to have the time to even breathe. When we communicate this to our brain, it releases more adrenaline in anticipation of the extra energy that might be required. But we need to remember that adrenaline is a very short term energy booster – more like an instant burst of energy.

To really see us through our ‘big day’ we need a ‘long run’ booster. The best, cheapest and healthiest source of long run booster is high carbohydrate food and portion sizes of food. However, carbohydrate on its own will not do as it needs to be taken in combination with other foods so it can metabolize efficiently and release energy. Here they are our healthy vegetarian recipes for your big day and may it help you shine bright.

Eating healthy on the run tip # 1: Power up with Protein and complex carbs

Start your big day with a healthy eating breakfast consisting of protein – think egg, turkey or chicken recipes. For complex carbohydrate think peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread. Top up with fruit juice.

Eating healthy on the run tip # 2: Add mini boosters

Two hours after breakfast, have a high-fiber, carbohydrate-rich snack. Something like half a cup of high-fiber cereal topped with nuts and half teaspoon of honey.

Healthy eating facts on the run tip # 3: Add traffic stops

Add small 10 minute breaks. Trust us you can do it – the World is not going to end during your ultra small 10 minute break. A break in your activity does not mean sitting down at a meeting. A break is doing absolutely nothing. Doing absolutely nothing for 10 minutes will not only help you overcome fatigue, it actually gets more done in the course the day. Think of yourself as the woodcutter who stops to sharpen his (or her) axe.

Tips on eating healthy on the run # 4: Add a mini jog

Sounds strange, but this works very well. If your big day involves mostly sitting at marathon meetings or has little physical activity, take a 2 minute jog down the corridor. When you jog adrenaline and energy is released. And this serves as an instant ‘perk up’.

Healthy eating out on the run tip # 5: Add a 3-minute Meditation

The fatigue-fighting effects of meditation are too well documented to be ignored. There’s no need to be dramatic and add candles or incense. Just sit quietly on your chair and meditate on the activities up to that moment. You will not only feel refreshed but might also have a few brainwaves.

Healthy eating meal plan on the run tip # 6: Power lunch

Don’t skip it. It will hardly take 10 minutes. Give yourself either a whole wheat bread Tuna sandwich with salad or whole wheat bread Turkey sandwich with salad. Top up with fruit juice.

We all have negative habits that we would like to get rid of. These could include for example, stopping smoking, drinking too much alcohol, or taking drugs. Sheer willpower hasn’t worked and it doesn’t seem like any solution is in sight. Using brainwave entrainment recordings can help you get over these hurdles.

The brain functions on a daily basis in the frequency ranges of beta, alpha, theta, and delta. Beta is the most active and high state of alertness. Theta and delta are the more relaxed and meditative states.

It is within the theta and delta ranges that we can enter the subconscious mind and essentially reprogram ourselves to get rid of addictions. The problem is how to easily access these subconscious states.

This is where brainwave entrainment comes in. It is now possible through the use of binaural beats recordings to induce the brain to put itself in the more relaxed frequency ranges so that we can rid ourselves of negative thoughts and addictions. This is called a “frequency following response.”

Listening to binaural beats recordings is very easy to learn to do and can be used at almost at any time. All you need is a set of stereo headphones and a quiet place to meditate. They are also inexpensive and can be downloaded from the internet.

If you have been struggling with ridding yourself of some addiction, consider using the brainwave entrainment approach. You will find that you will be able to reprogram your inner subconscious and will be able to muster up the will power to overcome your addictions. Defeating your inner demons is key to winning these battles.

Listening to binaural beats recordings on a regular basis will also make you a more relaxed person and better able to deal with stressful situations. In addition, there are the improved health benefits to be gained by eliminating the bad addictions.

We all have heard the terms “Use your Mind” or “Use your Brain”. These sayings are used interchangeably yet the mind and the brain are two different things. Our brains are part of our central nervous systems located in our skulls which are part of our heads. It includes two cerebral hemispheres which are two parallel masses of deeply furrowed tissue. Also part of the brain includes a brain stem and cerebellum. The functions of the brain include; muscle control and coordination of our bodies, sensory reception and integration, speech production, memory storage and the elaboration of thought and knowledge.

The mind is the term used for describing the higher functions of the brain. This includes those things we humans do that are subjectively conscious such as personality, thought, reason, memory, intelligence and emotion. Although other species have mental capacities it is the mind that is associated specifically with humans and their higher brain functions such as intelligence. However when there is damage to the brain it can affect our cognitive abilities as well as physical capabilities.

The term “mind” is however also ascribed to those people with super natural endowments such as esp. and telepathy. For some the mind is a reference to those things in the supernatural realm. It could be a supernatural being with human qualities. An example would be the expression “the mind of God” meaning those thoughts keeping in the vein with our perception of what “god” would think as he is represented to us.

In simple terms the brain is physical while the mind is not. The mind is a non physical entity while the brain is a concrete physical piece of grey matter. The brain is the concrete matter and the mind is how it operates. There is a debate however, whether the electrical activity that occurs in the brain is the mind. Included in the debate also is the question “Does the brain give way to create the mind independently which is shown as electro biochemical activity?”. This is a philosophical question that is grounded in the world of empirical science. The inference is that the mind can indeed be seen through the various machines that monitor the electro biochemical activity in which the brain waves are recorded as result of stimulation in the brain that is produced biochemically.

Brainwaves are patterns of electrical activity in the brain. They can be measured by a machine known as an EEG. EEG stands for electroencephalogram. An EEG is a graphical record of electrical activity of the brain; produced by an electroencephalograph. Electrodes are attached to the scalp in order to record the electrical activity that is produced by the brain.Brainwaves can be observed when a person is sleeping, having a seizure, in a coma, concentrating or even meditating.

People can consciously learn to change their brain wave patterns through neurotherapy. Neurotherapy is much like an EEG scan except the activity recorded is filtered through a computer. Through the filtering process we can see areas of the brain that are affected in specific ways by measuring brainwaves that are fast and those that are slower than others. The slow brainwaves are then separated from the fast ones. Everyone needs a balance between the slow and fast brainwaves. Areas of the brain that are not in balance are then analyzed so they can be worked on with the therapist and the patient.

We all have dreams, aspirations and goals. We all want to improve our lives and the lives of our families. The personal development industry was born from such desires. This industry along with the personal growth movement has been striving for decades to help people achieve their objectives. But how many people are really satisfied with the results they get from products that promise the earth but only deliver dirt?

Perhaps modern science has the answer to the age old problems of mankind!

Can an ordinary person achieve extraordinary results? Can you reach your long-held dreams?

With self improvement companies offering either extremely complicated methods or overly simplistic ways to achieve your goals from visualization advice to complicated goal setting algorithms maybe it’s time we looked in another direction for our answers.

Perhaps science has had the answer all along (or at least since 1839)!

For just a few decades short of 200 years science has known about binaural beats. In 1839 Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered that, amazingly, the brain would merge two separate tones, offered to each ear independently, to form one tone that would have an “illusionary” beat if the two tones differed only slightly from one and other.

Unfortunately for Dove the full scientific and personal growth implications of his discovery eluded him. This was not the case for Gerald Oster who published a detailed report in Scientific American about how binaural beats could be used as a brain entrainment tool.

Now, brain entrainment is relatively easy to understand. It refers to any type of stimuli that can coerce or force the brain to produce specific brainwaves.

Through the use of binaural beats, as a brain entrainment tool, it is possible to enter different mental states and different states of consciousness that are akin to sleep, hypnosis, deep meditation and a multitude of others.

Unlike hypnosis, meditation, chanting etc., brain entrainment works for everyone!

For this reason brain entrainment audio input is often embedded into self improvement meditation recordings or self hypnosis sessions. By including binaural beats into a hypnotic trance sequence, for example, a hypnotist can ensure his subject enters a state of trance even if he or she is resistant to the hypnotic induction.

The problem with using binaural beats is that they are slightly outdated. In order for binaural beats recordings to have any effect on the listener they must be listened to through a stereo headset. Failure to do this will mean no results!

It is due to the nature of binaural beats that makes the wearing of headphones or earphones an essential part of the process.

Obviously this is not a problem for hypnotic recordings as the listener will have to be relaxed with eyes closed for the session to be of any use. However, this is far from ideal if a manufacturer or therapist wants to incorporate brain entrainment into other forms of audio such as subliminal recordings for example.

For this reason isochronic tones were invented which totally remove the need for any specialized equipment or headphones. All you do is play the recordings and the specially recorded tones have exactly the same effect as binaural beats regardless of how they are listened to or what you are doing!

This isochronic tones can create a multitude of different mental and physical states. By far the most impressive state that these tones can create in the mind and body is the alpha state.

In this state a person is highly susceptible to suggestion and the subconscious mind is open to reprogramming. Using recordings like the one you can get below it is possible to program the subconscious mind with a goal and then instruct it to bring that goal into reality!

Truly science has finally found a way of helping us achieve our dreams!

We all have desires. We all want things. We all need social interaction and companionship and we all seek these things. But have you ever wondered why you have these desires?

Do you truly believe that the desire itself is what you are wanting or can you see that it is the feeling that this desire will give you that is your real driving force?

What we are all really wanting is the feeling of happiness. We all want to be happy. We think that having more stuff, money, better relationships or whatever, will bring us happiness. So would you be interested in by-passing the middle-man and just feeling happy for no reason? If you want to feel happier more of the time then I’m sure you will be interested in the sound technology known as binaural beats!

Welcome to the world of binaural beats!

Feeling happy happens in the mind. We have all heard the old saying “one man’s meat is another man’s poison”. This simple little statement really does encapsulate the difference between people in the world. One situation, event or thing can be a blessing to one person yet a curse to another. For example leaving in a one-bedroom apartment may be bad for an American family of 4 but for a family of 6 living on the streets of Calcutta it would be a blessing.

However, as human beings we all share things in common. One such thing is our brains. We all have the same type of mental hardware – our brains – and all brains work in similar ways. Although we may hold different views and have different attitudes towards things in life and the world our brains work in very specific ways – that are common to all us of humans.

Scientists have worked very hard to create a new sound technology called binaural beats. These binaural beats can induce specific brainwaves in the listener to create very specific mental, emotional and physical states.

For many years now scientists have been working to identify the brainwave patterns that are associated with many different emotional, mental and physical states. Scientists have identified almost all of these states and the brainwaves that are associated with them. Knowing these brainwave patterns is great for science but I’m sure you think it doesn’t really have any meaning for you. It is once we introduce the technology of binaural beats that this information becomes of real practical value.

Knowing which brainwave patterns create which emotional states, from anger to love & happiness, it is possible to create these brainwave patterns by using binaural beats. Binaural beats can be used to create deep relaxation, aid restful sleep, produce more creative ideas, and retain more information and a multitude of other things. Are you aware that binaural beats can even be used to create the exact brainwave patterns that have been shown to release endorphins in the body to relax you and make you feel happy?

What’s more if these binaural beats are used regularly for about 30 days the new brainwave patterns become a permanent feature for you. Now this is not to say you will be walking around happy all the time. The brainwave states associated with happiness that you have developed through the use of binaural beats just becomes a habit. So, just as you can get into the habit of feeling sad, or looking at the negative side of life, you can also get into the habit of feeling happy and looking for the positive in everything – all through the use if binaural beats!

To gain this increase in positive feelings in your life, through binaural beats, all you have to do is listen to some special sounds through stereo headphones and watch as your life begins to change!

We all have bad habits. This is the reality of the world today. The cigarette industry is a multi billion dollar a year industry which has roped in more than 1 billion people into its web of addiction. We don’t need to smoke. There is no physical benefit in smoking. Science has proven that it is the main cause of 4 types of cancers and more than 30 other types of ailments. Science has also proven without a shadow of a doubt that there are more than 1,000 toxic elements within the cigarette that people are ingesting with each puff.

Why do we still do it? Why, in the face of all these facts, the face of all the deaths in the world do we still maintain this habit, no matter how much we want to quit. This is a premier example of subconscious addiction. The drug is not in the cigarette and nicotine is not even the main cause of this constant craving for smoking. The feeling that we think we get whenever we smoke is all down to the brain ‘remembering’ and ‘enforcing’ and ‘augmenting’ the feelings we have, in a constant cycle that finally becomes a craving that leads to an addiction. We can’t stop because our subconscious – the most powerful controlling agent in our body, is telling us we must smoke to feel good.

So how do we change? How do we do subconscious reprogramming to change life for the better and kick the habit for good? The answer is brainwave entrainment technology and it is a phenomenon that has been picking up speed ever since it was introduced.

This cause for addiction is the same for everything we do. We overeat not because we are hungry; we do drugs not because we need to. Everything we are hooked on is the result of our mind telling us that we need to smoke, need to eat again and need to do that thing that is damaging us.

The solution is to reach into our mind and remove the messages of addiction that is branded with fire in our subconscious mind and the only way to do this is with brainwave entrainment technology. It places the mind in a state of meditation that shuts down the defences of the conscious mind and gives us access to the subconscious.

The entrainment technology than induces an electromagnetic frequency response that makes the subconscious open for reprogramming. It sounds easy because it is easy, one you are in that state you are able to use the power of positive and powerful messages to start you on the road to a better life. Find the root of the problem and change it from there, this is how subconscious reprogramming can change your life for the better.

There are all sorts of brainwave entrainment technology out there for you to choose from and they come in simple forms – even the form of a CD. There is no excuse for you not to try it.

delta meditation | alphabeat
We all have 4 main brainwaves, and they are, according to their speeds, from highest to lowest: Beta, Alpha, Theta & Delta. Each brainwave activity has its own characteristics, reflecting a special state of consciousness and a certain level of brain activity. The current state of your brain is determined by the dominant frequency of your brainwaves. The Gamma state which can be the fifth of the brainwaves, is not considered as a main brainwave state because rarely you can find a person who has this unique state. It is a very fascinating and exclusive state. Electricity in the brain moves in the form of waves at all times. These waves are classified according to their speed, according to their frequency. Neuroscience wanted to know about how the brain functions and how it can influence the person. The first discovery about brain functioning began in 1920, at the hands of Hans Berger a German researcher. He was the first to find out that brain electricity changes according to mental processes. The first brainwave he discovered was the Alpha state. In 1930’s and 40’s, researchers discovered 3 types of brainwaves: Beta, Theta & Delta. Only recently, Gamma state was discovered. Neuroscience discovered that the brain-like any organ of the body-vibrates with electricity, and the rhythm of this electricity which is called brainwaves, causes different states of being. Each of these brainwave states has its own speed range and associations. Research is not totally united about speed range of each state. However, the variations are minimal, and here I will demonstrate the main speed range and characteristics of each brainwave state.

The 5 Brainwave States

Beta, Alpha,Theta, Delta & Gamma

1- Beta State: (14-40 Hz)- The High-Speed Conscious State: This is the highest speed of main waves. Beta waves dominate our waking lives as adults. We reach this state when we are actively thinking, engaged in focused mental activity, problem solving and when we are generally alert. It is also associated with logic and decision making. This state is important for us because we spend most of our daily times in different forms of actions, which necessitate a high level of consciousness or alertness. However at this high speed of brain activity, it drains a lot of energy. Furthermore, if we get to the higher level of Beta, say close to 30 Hz or faster speed, we may end being too alert or anxious. Anger, nervousness & fear all happen at the high end of Beta. These negative emotions not only consume tremendous energy but worse, they release harmful hormones like cortisol and others. A continuous state of Beta will diminish your natural ability to relax and also limit your ability to enjoy life. Unfortunately, because of our life style, because we need to do the things that activate Beta such as driving, thinking, problem solving, discussing, studying… etc., we end up in being dominated by it. Research shows that once we pass childhood age, once we become adults, our brainwaves become mostly Beta, during the waking state. This – very likely – may develop stress, restlessness & anxiety in our lives. It is no wonder that stress is a major health problem today, worldwide.

2- Alpha: (8-14 Hz) – The Relaxation State: This state is about mental relaxation and calmness. In Alpha, the brain learns at a faster and deeper level than Beta. You reach this level when you are relaxed. It is not quite like meditation but a stage that is close to feeling restful, such as sitting on the beach, or listening to calm sounds or music, or walking through a beautiful garden, or just sitting by yourself calmly. It reflects a resting state of mind and nerves. It is associated with creativity, mind/body co-ordination, inspiration and learning. It is good for creating new ideas and reflection. It is about focusing on the present, the importance of now. Research has shown that Alpha not only improves the performance of students, but also makes students more interested in studying than before. Alpha state is effective for influencing your conscious mind and ultimately, inducing changes at the conscious level. Studies show that by repeatedly accessing Alpha state (especially if combined with meditation), people can get rid of anxiety, or depression.

3- Theta: (4-8 Hz)- The Meditation State: This state is the border between waking and sleeping, and also the border between the conscious and unconscious mind. It can be reached either by deep meditation, deep relaxation (like hypnosis relaxation) and sleeping with dreams (dreamless sleep is Delta). Theta is a magical state that is the doorway to your unconscious mind UM. You can experience it when you move from Alpha and begin to sleep or when you wake up, moving from Delta (deep sleep). In Theta, you can get super learning ability, vivid visualization, deep creativity and mind programming. Although during Theta your body is in deep relaxation, you are aware of your surroundings and your senses are sharper. Your mind’s profound programs are at Theta. If you want to induce changes at the unconscious level, this is where you start. Super memory begins at Theta. Dreaming, strong mental concentration and higher intuition are all associated with Theta waves. In this state, you can also enjoy strong spiritual energy. Theta state can be very helpful to generate a lot of energy to the extent that some people noticed that half an hour a day of Theta can replace 4 hours of sleep. This is one reason that Theta is the start of the healing stage. Children are dominated by Theta -much more than adults-and this is a major factor for their accelerated learning abilities.

4- Delta (0.1-4 Hz) – The Deep Sleep State: This is the slowest of all waves. It occurs when you sleep deeply and without dreams. It can be also reached through deep meditation or deep trance hypnosis. Like Theta, you can reach your unconscious mind UM and induce many changes, only difference is that at Delta level, profound changes are more available than in Theta. The healing process which starts at Theta level can be more profound and complete at Delta. This state is the source of empathy. Many long-lasting emotional disorders and physical diseases can only be treated under Delta. This is one main factor that contributes to the success of deep hypnosis.

5- Gamma (40-100 Hz) – The Exceptional State: This state is the most recently discovered, and little is known about it and in a way it is still a mystery to many researchers. It is the fastest waves ranging between 40 Hz to 100 Hz, although some studies estimate it to start at 30Hz. Gamma waves were unknown before the advent of EEG devices. Neuroscientists are now discovering the marvelous functions of the brain when it operates under Gamma. They describe it as the “feeling of blessings”. It is said that the brain functions best under Gamma and therefore, the person reaches peak performance, mentally and physically. Research has found that people who suffer from depression, usually have very low Gamma level. It is no wonder that high Gamma activity is associated with feelings of happiness, calmness and at peace. It is like a different state of consciousness. Gamma disappears under anesthesia, and it is also above the frequency of neuronal firing, which is still a mystery. The other mystery is how it is generated? Many researchers studied persons with high Gamma level, and they found that it is high in experienced meditators like Tibetan monks. Richard Davidson, a professor for neuroscience at the University of Madison, Wisconsin, studied monks visualizing world peace. He noticed that these monks as they began to meditate, their brain speed slowed down to Alpha and then Theta, and whenever they began to deeply visualize, their brain frequencies speeded up to Gamma state. Other researchers found that experienced Tibetan meditators have high Gamma level before, during and after meditation. Higher Gamma waves are noticeable among deep meditators much more than in novice meditators. EEG readings showed that novice meditators reach Alpha or Theta states while Expert meditators usually have high Gamma waves. Those meditators describe their feeling as the sensation of being able to do anything. Researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany concluded that the altered state of consciousness that results from expert-level meditation is in fact Gamma state. Neuroscientists Jurgen Fell, Nikolai Axmacher and Sven Haupt reported in August 2010 paper, that expert meditators (meditators who practiced deep meditation for years or decades) enjoy continuous high Gamma level even without meditating. Brain scans show that deep meditators also develop increased cortical thickness of the brain, and even are associated with “neuroplasticity” which means their brain is able to form new connections and therefore, reach new levels of consciousness. This altered state of consciousness may explain why persons with high Gamma level are not only happier and calmer but also enjoy richer sensory experience. For example, in this state, food tastes better, smell is stronger, and colors are brighter and sharper. They describe this experience as “blissful sensation”. It is interesting to note the paradox of Gamma: whenever the brain speeds up to Gamma level, the sense of time slows down. This is evident during a car accident: The brain enters high Gamma level while time seems to slow down. Neuroscience claims that everyone has Gamma waves, but very few persons have it at a high level, and even fewer persons can maintain it at that high level. This brings us to this important question: How do we get high Gamma level?

One simple answer is meditation. Neuroscientists think that we can train ourselves to get higher Gamma waves. Studies show that meditation and especially deep meditation increases Gamma waves. What is interesting here is what you focus on during meditation. In one remarkable study, whenever monks were asked to focus on love and compassion, immediately their brain sped up to Gamma state. Researchers recently discovered that the brain becomes in Gamma state whenever the person concentrates on higher virtues such as altruism, love, and compassion. This may answer a long-time question regarding how different forms of meditation lead to different states of consciousness. All meditation styles lead to different degrees of Gamma level, but it seems that focusing on faith or love during meditation, is a major key to high gamma level. There is no doubt that higher spirituality is linked to higher Gamma state.

We all experience the exhilarating rush of endorphin release from time to time whether it is from sustained physical activity, eating certain foods or being faced with a sudden threat.

Endorphins are chemicals naturally produced by the pituitary gland in the brain and the hypothalamus in the vertebrates whenever the body is in a state of excitement, pain, intense exercise, orgasm and other states of heightened stimulation. It is a slightly euphoric rush that provides sensations of pleasure in certain circumstances while giving us the strength to go on during moments of stress.

Triggering natural endorphin release is beneficial when we need an extra dose of energy, to ease chronic pain or to help us get to a more balanced level when our energy is running low. Depending on one’s condition, it may not be possible or desirable to undergo strenuous physical exercise to the point where the body releases endorphins. Sexual activity may be absent or impossible at moments when endorphins are needed. Placing ourselves in real danger just to stimulate endorphins would be foolish. Eating excessively to get a rush of endorphins is equally undesirable. Using other chemicals to trigger endorphins is likely to create side effects and complications in our bodies. So how is it possible to enjoy safe and natural endorphin release? The answer is brainwave entrainment.

Brainwave entrainment recordings designed for endorphin release consist of sound frequencies that synchronize brainwaves to the same range of frequencies of the sounds. By shifting brainwaves, it is possible to naturally bring the brain into a state where it releases endorphins. This can be easily understood by looking at modern scientific studies that have demonstrated that brainwave patterns vary during different activities and experiences. Generally speaking, each state of being or activity has a signature frequency range. The idea with brainwave entrainment is to bring brainwaves into the same range of frequencies that occur during endorphin release.

Two popular types of brainwave entrainment recordings, binaural beats and isochronic tones, work differently to bring about the same results. Binaural beats, more well known, influence the brain by sending two slightly different audio signals to each ear through headphones. The sounds consist of repetitive pulses of specific frequencies. Isochronic tones, a more recent development in the field of brainwave entrainment, offer clearer and sharper sound tones that often bring about stronger results. Also repetitive in nature, isochronic tones are a great tool to harmonize brainwaves for endorphin release.

Using a binaural beats or isochronic tones MP3 recording once a day or as needed is a safe way to stimulate the brain into generating endorphins. This type of technology has been widely studied and tested for decades. To use them, one simply has to sit down in a comfortable position and listen to the sounds for 15 to 30 minutes at a time. There is nothing to do except allow the sounds to do their job and shift the brain to the desired frequencies. Using visualizations or other relaxation techniques will listening to the recording is likely to enhance its effects.
