Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Preparing for the holidays has to be one of the most stressful times in our lives-and we do it over and over again, every year. Brainwave entrainment is a clinically proven technology that can ease you through this tough time and who knows, you might even enjoy the season, for a change.
Your thoughts and emotions are vibrations of energy and thus, have a direct effect on how your life is going. What you think about and how you feel about those thoughts, determines what you experience.
The holidays are rife with financial worry– that’s a no brainer, but we impose other worries on ourselves that can take all the joy out of the season as fast as you can say, “pass the antacid, please.”
Should we buy for Uncle Harold, or the mailman, and does Grandma like little pig ornaments anymore? What do we serve for the big meal–apple pie or mince? How many people are coming? Who’s staying overnight? Is everybody going to get along? Should we get the carpet cleaned? How much eggnog is too much? Will we have to travel? Why are we packing on weight like a sperm whale? When are we going to get the gifts wrapped? Heck, when are we going to find the time, not to mention the money, to buy the gifts?
When your thoughts and emotions are running non-stop, with anxiety, without a mental break, your body is on high alert. It feels like it is under attack, and it is. A steady rush of cortisol, a stress related hormone, permeates every cell of your body. You can’t sleep, you crave carbohydrates and mindlessly pack unwanted pounds– around your middle, all the while killing your immune system-or almost. If everything keeps on going as it is, you’ll have a full blown (no pun intended) cold, a few cold sores, an extra chin, and a migraine from hell, by the time the big day comes.
Stop worrying.
Brainwave entrainment is an auditory tool that introduces specific sound patterns to your brain, stopping the overproduction of cortisol, as you rest and listen to a recording. It takes less than 6 minutes for your brain to “clamp” onto the sound pattern, mimicking the design, altering your brainwave frequency, eliminating your anxiety.
In less than six minutes, your breathing pattern will change from fast and shallow, to deep and restorative. Feel-good hormones will flood your mind and body, and maybe, for once in a long time, you’ll feel relaxed, and relieved.
Brainwave entrainment can help you stop worrying about the holiday season. After all, the holiday season isn’t just for everyone else– it’s for you too.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.
This ‘frequency following’ response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ‘entrain’ to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.
On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.
Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.
THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ‘mind-tripping’, enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.
While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.
We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person’s starting position, entrainment can be rather ‘hit and miss’.
If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you’re probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain’s strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.
