Brainwave Entrainment Real Zombies? The Russian Sleep Experiment

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Russian researchers in the late 1940’s kept five people awake for fifteen days using an experimental gas based stimulant. They were kept in a sealed environment to carefully monitor their oxygen intake so the gas didn’t kill them, since it was toxic in high concentrations. This was before closed circuit cameras so they had only microphones and five inch thick glass porthole sized windows into the chamber to monitor them. The chamber was stocked with books, cots to sleep on but no bedding, running water and toilet, and enough dried food to last all five for over a month. The test subjects were political prisoners deemed enemies of the state during World War II.

Everything was fine for the first five days, the subjects hardly complained having been promised (falsely) that they would be freed if they submitted to the test and did not sleep for 30 days. Their conversations and activities were monitored and it was noted that they continued to talk about increasingly traumatic incidents in their past, and the general tone of their conversations took on a darker aspect after the four day mark.

After five days they started to complain about the circumstances and events that lead them to where they were and started to demonstrate severe paranoia. They stopped talking to each other and began alternately whispering to the microphones and one way mirrored portholes. Oddly they all seemed to think they could win the trust of the experimenters by turning over their comrades, the other subjects in captivity with them.

At first the researchers suspected this was an effect of the gas itself. After nine days the first of them started screaming. He ran the length of the chamber repeatedly yelling at the top of his lungs for three hours straight. He continued attempting to scream but was only able to produce occasional squeaks. The researchers postulated that he had physically torn his vocal cords. The most surprising thing about this behavior is how the other captives reacted to it, or rather didn’t react to it. They continued whispering to the microphones until the second of the captives started to scream.

The two non screaming captives took the books apart, smeared page after page with their own feces and pasted them calmly over the glass portholes. The screaming promptly stopped. So did the whispering to the microphones. After three more days passed. The researchers checked the microphones hourly to make sure they were working, since they thought it impossible that no sound could be coming with five people inside. The oxygen consumption in the chamber indicated that all five must still be alive. In fact it was the amount of oxygen five people would consume at a very heavy level of strenuous exercise.

On the morning of the 14th day the researchers did something they said they would not do to get a reaction from the captives. They used the intercom inside the chamber, hoping to provoke any response from the captives, whom they feared were either dead or vegetables. They announced: “We are opening the chamber to test the microphones step away from the doors and lie flat on the floor or you will be shot. Compliance will earn one of you your immediate freedom.” To their surprise they heard a single phrase in a calm voice response: “We no longer want to be freed.” Debate broke out among the researchers and the military forces funding the research. Unable to provoke any more response using the intercom it was finally decided to open the chamber at midnight on the fifteenth day.

The chamber was flushed of the stimulant gas and filled with fresh air and immediately voices from the microphones began to object. Three different voices began begging, as if pleading for the life of loved ones to turn the gas back on. The chamber was opened and soldiers sent in to retrieve the test subjects. They began to scream louder than ever, and so did the soldiers when they saw what was inside.

Four of the five subjects were still alive, although no one could rightly call the state that any of them in ‘life.’ The food rations past day five had not been so much as touched. There were chunks of meat from the dead test subject’s thighs and chest stuffed into the drain in the center of the chamber, blocking the drain and allowing four inches of water to accumulate on the floor. Precisely how much of the water on the floor was actually blood was never determined. All four ‘surviving’ test subjects also had large portions of muscle and skin torn away from their bodies. The destruction of flesh and exposed bone on their finger tips indicated that the wounds were inflicted by hand, not with teeth as the researchers initially thought. Closer examination of the position and angles of the wounds indicated that most if not all of them were self-inflicted. The abdominal organs below the ribcage of all four test subjects had been removed. While the heart, lungs and diaphragm remained in place, the skin and most of the muscles attached to the ribs had been ripped off, exposing the lungs through the ribcage. All the blood vessels and organs remained intact, they had just been taken out and laid on the floor, fanning out around the eviscerated but still living bodies of the subjects. The digestive tract of all four could be seen to be working, digesting food.

It quickly became apparent that what they were digesting was their own flesh that they had ripped off and eaten over the course of days. Most of the soldiers were Russian special operatives at the facility, but still many refused to return to the chamber to remove the test subjects. They continued to scream to be left in the chamber and alternately begged and demanded that the gas be turned back on, lest they fall asleep. To everyone’s surprise the test subjects put up a fierce fight in the process of being removed from the chamber.

One of the Russian soldiers died from having his throat ripped out, another was gravely injured by having his testicles ripped off and an artery in his leg severed by one of the subject’s teeth. Another five of the soldiers lost their lives if you count ones that committed suicide in the weeks following the incident. In the struggle, one of the four living subjects had his spleen ruptured and he bled out almost immediately. The medical researchers attempted to sedate him but this proved impossible. He was injected with more than ten times the human dose of a morphine derivative and still fought like a cornered animal, breaking the ribs and arm of one doctor. When heart was seen to beat for a full two minutes after he had bled out to the point there was more air in his vascular system than blood. Even after it stopped he continued to scream and flail for another three minutes, struggling to attack anyone in reach and just repeating the word “MORE” over and over, weaker and weaker, until he finally fell silent.

The surviving three test subjects were heavily restrained and moved to a medical facility, the two with intact vocal cords continuously begging for the gas demanding to be kept awake. The most injured of the three was taken to the only surgical operating room that the facility had. In the process of preparing the subject to have his organs placed back within his body it was found that he was effectively immune to the sedative they had given him to prepare him for the surgery. He fought furiously against his restraints when the anesthetic gas was brought out to put him under. He managed to tear most of the way through a four inch wide leather strap on one wrist, even through the weight of a 200 pound soldier holding that wrist as well. It took only a little more anesthetic than normal to put him under, and the instant his eyelids fluttered and closed, his heart stopped. In the autopsy of the test subject that died on the operating table it was found that his blood had triple the normal level of oxygen. His muscles that were still attached to his skeleton were badly torn and he had broken nine bones in his struggle to not be subdued. Most of them were from the force his own muscles had exerted on them.

The second survivor had been the first of the group of five to start screaming. His vocal cords destroyed he was unable to beg or object to surgery, and he only reacted by shaking his head violently in disapproval when the anesthetic gas was brought near him. He shook his head yes when someone suggested, reluctantly, they try the surgery without anesthetic, and did not react for the entire six hour procedure of replacing his abdominal organs and attempting to cover them with what remained of his skin. The surgeon presiding stated repeatedly that it should be medically possible for the patient to still be alive. One terrified nurse assisting the surgery stated that she had seen the patients mouth curl into a smile several times, whenever his eyes met hers. When the surgery ended the subject looked at the surgeon and began to wheeze loudly, attempting to talk while struggling. Assuming this must be something of drastic importance the surgeon had a pen and pad fetched so the patient could write his message. It was a simple “Keep cutting.”

The other two test subjects were given the same surgery, both without anesthetic as well. Although they had to be injected with a paralytic for the duration of the operation. The surgeon found it impossible to perform the operation while the patients laughed continuously. Once paralyzed the subjects could only follow the attending researchers with their eyes. The paralytic cleared their system in an abnormally short period of time and they were soon trying to escape their bonds. The moment they could speak they were again asking for the stimulant gas. The researchers tried asking why they had injured themselves, why they had ripped out their own guts and why they wanted to be given the gas again. Only one response was given: “I must remain awake.”

All three subject’s restraints were reinforced and they were placed back into the chamber awaiting determination as to what should be done with them. The researchers, facing the wrath of their military ‘benefactors’ for having failed the stated goals of their project considered euthanizing the surviving subjects. The commanding officer, an ex-KGB instead saw potential, and wanted to see what would happen if they were put back on the gas. The researchers strongly objected, but were overruled.

In preparation for being sealed in the chamber again the subjects were connected to an EEG monitor and had their restraints padded for long term confinement. To everyone’s surprise all three stopped struggling the moment it was let slip that they were going back on the gas. It was obvious that at this point all three were putting up a great struggle to stay awake. One of subjects that could speak was humming loudly and continuously; the mute subject was straining his legs against the leather bonds with all his might, first left, then right, then left again for something to focus on.

The remaining subject was holding his head off his pillow and blinking rapidly. Having been the first to be wired for EEG most of the researchers were monitoring his brain waves in surprise. They were normal most of the time but sometimes flat lined inexplicably. It looked as if he were repeatedly suffering brain death, before returning to normal. As they focused on paper scrolling out of the brainwave monitor only one nurse saw his eyes slip shut at the same moment his head hit the pillow. His brainwaves immediately changed to that of deep sleep, then flat-lined for the last time as his heart simultaneously stopped.

The only remaining subject that could speak started screaming to be sealed in now. His brainwaves showed the same flat-lines as one who had just died from falling asleep. The commander gave the order to seal the chamber with both subjects inside, as well as three researchers. One of the named three immediately drew his gun and shot the commander point blank between the eyes, then turned the gun on the mute subject and blew his brains out as well. He pointed his gun at the remaining subject, still restrained to a bed as the remaining members of the medical and research team fled the room.

“I won’t be locked in here with these things! Not with you!” he screamed at the man strapped to the table. “WHAT ARE YOU?” he demanded. “I must know!”

The subject smiled. “Have you forgotten so easily?” The subject asked. “We are you.” “We are the madness that lurks within you all, begging to be free at every moment in your deepest animal mind.” “We are what you hide from in your beds every night. We are what you sedate into silence and paralysis when you go to the nocturnal haven where we cannot tread.”

The researcher paused, then aimed at the subject’s heart and fired. The EEG flat-lined as the subject weakly choked out “so… nearly… free… ”
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ‘frequency following’ response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ‘entrain’ to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ‘mind-tripping’, enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person’s starting position, entrainment can be rather ‘hit and miss’.

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you’re probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain’s strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

Russell started a business at the age of 29, a waste management company in the North of England. He sold his share 15 years later, allowing him to retire at the age of 44. Here Russell gives us some tips on running a successful business.

Quality of work – one of the most important things, I’d say, is how you do the job. In any business, there is obviously a market for that business, or else you wouldn’t be going into it. Not many people have brainwaves where they start something that isn’t already being done. So if you go into business you have to do it better than other people. You may find that others, especially bigger companies, the quality of work is shabby. As a smaller company, you will have more hands-on control of quality of work and that is one of the most important things because you will get repeat business from it. You will build your reputation off the fact you do good work. An example: if you ask ten people to clean a kitchen floor, there are probably one or two people who clean the edges and the corners. You have to be one of those two people.

Listening to Advice – You definitely learn as you go along. You get stronger, you learn more, and you learn by the mistakes that you make: you learn by things that you do right as well! If there are people out there that are prepared to give you advice, listen to them! Try to work out what they are trying to tell you, make sure you have got a grip of the advice they are giving you, and use it. Because the advice that is given to you, it could be a couple of years before you come across that situation. But if somebody tells you that beforehand try and you take it on board, it could progress you quicker than you finding out yourself

Do Your Sums – Do your sums! Majorly important! Some people shy away they are so focused on what they want to do, that they forget to sit down and do some simple sums. Is it feasible to do it? Just taking into account your costs: what it is going to cost to do something, and not forgetting your time has got to have a cost as well. If you sit down and do your sums and it doesn’t work out where you are going to make any money, don’t try and fight it, just walk away and do something else. A lot of people are so stubborn, even if they sit down and put it on paper, they’ll still go ahead, because they want so much to do it. They will ignore the simple sum that it isn’t going to make money. You have got to work it out before you do it….it is all about the numbers!

Time Out – You have got to remember, business, at the end of the day is a job. You’ve got to be able to walk away from it at some point during the day and say “my job’s finished, I’ve got my home life now.” You can’t do it continuously; you’ve got to be able to switch off.

Don’t be intimidated – When you set up in business you see people more experienced than you and you think you’ll never get to that level. You can’t look at people and think they’re a lot better than you or you’ll not have the confidence to deal on a level playing field with them. What you’ve got to remember, at the end of the day is they’re only a human being, and they’ll have weaknesses and strengths like everybody else.

Great tips there from someone who has been there and done it.

Roadmap to Genius is a product that promises to help you raise your IQ and intelligence in general. Through helpful advice that has been said to help stimulate and exercise your brain and audio entrainment that is said to bring out the full potential of your gray matter, Roadmap to Genius guarantees that you will become smarter.

We checked out Roadmap to Genius thoroughly and have to say that it does hold great promise for those who wish to improve their mental capacities. The book is broken down into several sections that cover how your brain works, what might limit your intelligence or ability to learn and ways to improve your IQ or intelligence quotient. There are exercises and suggestions for what you can do to help you to be more focused and open to retaining and retrieving information stored in your brain basically, as well as insightful suggestions for what you might be doing to ruin your brain’s ability to think most efficiently.

The audio portion of Roadmap to Genius is a series of mp3 recordings that will help to entrain your brain or bring it into synch with the level of consciousness that is most helpful in allowing you to learn or think effectively. Although this is commonly thought of as a new age sort of technique for improving intelligence or mental ability it has been proven effective and found to be a common thread that many very intelligent people have…that is a brain that runs at a particular frequency.

This may all sound like a bunch of garbage but you will find that you do feel different even after one sitting of brainwave entrainment so there is no doubt that something is going on. Actually, brainwave entrainment has been studied by science and modern medicine for quite a while now and may camps say that it truly is an effective way to change the frequency in which your brain operates and often times it is possible to mimic the same frequencies of known genius’ and other human beings who have been known to think on a higher level. One really shouldn’t discount brain entrainment as being a bunch of hocus pocus or simply new age hype.

The only fault that we found with Roadmap to Genius is that the written portion of the program did have some typos and the wording of some of it is a little awkward. We figure that the awkward of different writing style might be due to the fact that the author is not American (we think he might be British). So we can’t really fault him there!

Overall, we have to say that Roadmap to Genius is an effective tool for anyone that hopes to improve their intelligence and mental capacity. The payoff can be quite extraordinary with the benefits being improve self confidence, self esteem and an overall richer life in all areas….financial, emotional, spiritual and physical.

Ritual is part of life. Whether or not you participate in rituals for religious or spiritual reasons, your life is filled with routines that may be called rituals.

Maybe your family sits in certain seats at the dining table. Maybe laundry gets sorted a particular way. You probably always dress yourself putting your pants on the same leg first, etc. You can look at your life and find routines that you do the same way every time.

People getting in touch with their spirituality use ritual to move them to the space where they connect with their spirit. Mediation serves as a means for getting in touch with one’s Spirit and making contact with the Source of All-That-Is, God, Creator-whatever term you use.

The ritual does not serve as the end but the beginning of that connection process. Some people need a mediation space, perhaps an altar. They may use special music or sit in specific positions. Some people use musical instruments to signal their Higher Self or their subconscious that they are about to move into a prayer space.

Rituals allow the transition from every day life into the sacred space to happen more easily and smoothly. Certain breathing techniques cause brainwave patterns to start to facilitate mediation and connection that happens when people go within to their own center.

The point of the ritual is preparation. The act of praying is the goal.

What is prayer? Many people think prayer means supplication, “God please do this for me.” Some try to make bargains with words like, ‘”God, let me do XYZ and I will do ABC for you-or someone else.”

The Universe does not bargain, nor does it evaluate or pass judgments. The Creator simply provides whatever the person asks for-providing the message comes in a clear request without countering emotions that cancel it out.

Someone who asks for more money then spends the rest of the day thinking about poverty or being unable to pay their bills cancels out the request for money. The Universe can only supply what it knows you clearly want. Then it always provides it-so long as it is in your highest and best interest. Even then, it will deliver it at the time that is best for you. Your timing may differ from that of God.

Here is the point most people do not know-the Universe responds to emotions and feelings. Requests that come as emotional expressions get fulfilled right away. That is why most people live in ways they do not want. They think about and worry about things they want out of their lives. The Universe just knows how they feel and brings them more of how they feel.

Get a clue here. Feel happy to get more of what lets you feel happy. The true prayer s one of knowing your desired outcomes already exists and you feel and experience all the feelings and deep emotions of living with your request already being real in your life.

An example may help clarify my point. If you want a bountiful garden harvest then prepare the soil. Sow the seeds and nourish the garden right from the start.

The prayer would be your feeling a full stomach, enjoying optimal health and licking your lips as you enjoy succulent vegetables and fruit. You would taste the sweet tastes and feel the texture in your mouth of your favorite produce. You would smile and share the enjoyment of what you grew.

You spend your time in the place of already having harvested a bounty from your garden-and the Universe will make that virtual experience real.

Make sense? You create your world-I mean you really create your world in your mind first and in your emotions and experience. Then your experience becomes real in the three dimensional world.

Ritual prepares the mind and body for the prayer that delivers what you want in life.

Brainwave Entrainment Are the Benefits of ADD Drugs Long-Lasting?

Ritalin (and other psycho-stimulant drugs prescribed for ADD/ADHD) provide some wonderful benefits. Increased attention span, less hyperactivity and fidgeting, better social skills and improved academic performance.

But are the benefits gained from the drug long-lasting?

Thomas Armstrong author of the ground-breaking book “The Myth Of The A.D.D. Child” answers this question:

“Ritalin is a short-acting drug that is often administered in the morning. It wears off after about four hours, leading to a ‘rebound’ effect in the late afternoon or evening for some kids that consists of changes in mood, irritability, and increases in the behavior and attention problems that were there before the drug was taken.”

Wouldn’t it be better then, to look for a more permanent, long-term solution that doesn’t have any of the side effects of the psycho-stimulants?

There is no other alternative that works as fast as drugs, which can alter the state of an individual in minutes.

The closest thing we have to this is brainwave entrainment. Brainwave entrainment is a special cutting edge audio technology that alters our brainwave patterns and in so doing alters our state. Depending on the frequency we listen to it can make us more alert, sleepy, etc.

The brainwave entrainment technology used for children with ADD & ADHD has two different aims. The first one is to calm a hyperactive child down and the second is to increase concentration and improve attention span.

Brainwave entrainment doesn’t involve any expensive equipment or any special training. It’s as simple as listening to a CD or mp3.

But the difference is that brainwave entrainment has none of the side effects of Ritalin. It’s perfectly safe with children of all ages. But it does take longer to see a result, two to four weeks, in most cases.

When brainwave entrainment is combined with behavior modification and small changes to the diet, the improvements are even more dramatic and long-lasting.

This is where The Calm Kids Program really shines. Most ADD/ADHD Programs focus on only one aspect (for example, diet or behavior modification), but the Calm Kids program combines all these elements with the powerful cutting-edge technology of brainwave entrainment.

Ritalin (and other ADD/ADHD Drugs) have lots of negative side effects and should never be used as a substitute for developing skills that the child needs and dealing with the underlying problems the child has. But there are 3 instances where medication may be a good idea.

The first group of children are those who have severe and unremitting hyperactivity caused by neurological problems. These are neurological problems caused by lead or chemical poisoning, Parkinson’s Disease and brain damage.
The second group of kids that medication can benefit are those kids with ADD/ADHD who are going through a difficult and stressful time and learning new skills is simply too much for them to cope with at present. In this case medication should be used on a short-term basis, as a temporary measure to ease the strain and improve the situation.
Medication can also be used as a last resort. And I do mean a last resort after parents have made a sincere and concerted effort to look for other solutions.

Medication should never be used in isolation. Physical education programs, behavior modification techniques, the development of coping skills & study skills, diet , brainwave entrainment and so forth should all be used in an attempt to improve and reduce ADD/ADHD symptoms.

This is where The Calm Kids Program really stands head and shoulders above the competition. It is a complete, holistic program that combines life-skill development, behavior modification, brainwave entrainment and diet into a program unlike any other. It is 100% safe, and results show in as little as 2 weeks. There are no side effects whatsoever, although people who suffer from epilepsy shouldn’t listen to the brainwave entrainment mp3. And the best part is that changes are permanent, unlike the temporary improvements that medication results in.

Brainwave Entrainment Say Good Night To Insomnia

Right now, lousy sleep is probably taking a heavy toll on all aspects of your life. How long has it been going on? Weeks? Months? Or rather years? Wouldn’t you like to say good night to insomnia once and for all?

We can all experience the occasional night of sleeplessness without any consequences. It’s when the night here and there becomes a pattern that repeats itself several nights in a row that you’re faced with a sleeping problem.

Repeated loss of sleep affects you physically, mentally and emotionally. Sleep deprivation can affect your overall daily performance and may even have an effect on your personality. If it goes on for a long period of time it can cause problems in your relationships, compromise your productivity, and perhaps lead to other health problems. It can become a relentless cycle of worry and anxiety as night after night you toss and turn, wondering when sleep will come, and wondering what’s wrong with you.

But the fact is, there’s nothing wrong with you.

First of all, you’re far from being alone. In the 21st century, sleep problems have reached epidemic proportions. As much as 50% of adults complain of having problems falling asleep, or staying asleep, or of being fatigued and rundown throughout the day.

I know what it is. For most of my life I was sure I was “one of those persons” who are cursed with sleep problems. Ever since the end of my childhood I had trouble falling asleep. If I invited a friend to sleep in, I would be the last one with the eyes open. Same thing when I started having girlfriends. I was also waking up several times each night, and frequently struggled getting back to sleep. I would always wake up with great difficulty.

The pattern was so well established that I soon learned to label myself as “someone who has trouble sleeping”. And for years I suffered from so much fatigue during the day that I wondered what was wrong with me – and my girlfriend was wondering too as she saw me complain all the time. It was truly hard, and as I tell you that I’m sure you understand me perfectly.

Sleep problems are a thing of the past for me now. Instead of taking hours to fall asleep, I’m off in less than 10 minutes. I literally sleep like a baby. Oh, and instead of spending 8 or more hours in bed and feeling tired all day, I now sleep 5 and a half hours total and am full of energy to do all I want to do. I still have room for improvement, but I don’t need to run my tail off anymore.

I have time to create new things, run a business and spend time with my family. And one the things I learned is that there’s no such thing as “being an insomniac”.

Contrary to most popular beliefs, insomnia is not a disease. It’s just a symptom of other underlying problems that need to be solved. Once those real causes are removed, insomnia disappear. So please repeat after me:

“Insomnia is not a part of who I am”

“I was not born with sleep problems”

“I’m not doomed to poor sleep for the rest of my life”

You might have a hard time believing this because you tried a lot of things already, only to fail. You tried forcing your way to sleep. You tried sleeping pills and this and that treatment that didn’t work. So what WILL work? Three things:

One, remove the obstacles that prevent you from sleeping soundly.

Two, replace the habits that caused the problem in the first place with new ones that favor sound sleep. As you’ll see, there’s not much to it once you know what to pay attention to.

Three, train your brain how to fall fast into a deep sleep and give you the rest you need. The Sleep Tracks provided with the “SleepTracks Sleep Optimization Program” will guide your brain to produce specific, sleep-inducing brainwaves. The method is effective, proven, and promotes long-lasting health. Within a couple days you’ll start to sleep soundly again, and within a couple months you won’t even need to use the Sleep Tracks anymore.

You CAN say good night to insomnia, and it’s easier than you think.

Ride your HORSE to MUSIC and solve training issues! Whether you are riding a dressage musical freestyle, or just riding your horse to music, there are TIPS you should know before you start. Over the years, you have told me that the most important thing to you is that you want the RIGHT MUSIC for your HORSE and you WANT TO HAVE FUN!!

You’ve also told me that:
* You want help recognizing the rhythm of your horse’s gaits.
* You can’t maintain a rhythm.
* You and your horse are nervous and you need help relaxing.
* You’re tired of seeing “4”s for loss of rhythm on your dressage tests.
* You’re frustrated because there is no harmony between you and your horse.
* You don’t know what the right tempo is for your horse.
* You don’t know the difference between rhythm and tempo.
* You don’t know what type of music to choose.
* You can’t hear the difference between walk, trot, and canter music.
* You can’t identify the tempo (or BPM) of music.
* You are tired of buying so many CDs when they only have one good song for riding.

Here’s how I got started…

I grew up in a musical family so learning to read music and play various instruments was ingrained into me early in life. But most of all, I’ve always loved listening to music. (I always had the radio on in the barn.)

But riding to music became a necessity when I got a high strung Trakehner gelding to re-train. This horse was so incredibly tense, and fearful that simply trotting in one rhythm was IMPOSSIBLE. Anyhow, one day I was trying to trot around the arena, when a perfectly cadenced Scottish bagpipe march came on the radio. That horse picked up a swinging, rhythmic trot all by himself! AND he was breathing in time to the music. (Yes, I even have two witnesses to this!)

I was completely shocked. After that, I became fascinated with how music affects both the horse and rider, and my quest began. As I developed my business creating musical freestyles, I was time and time amazed at how perfect music could improve and enhance the horse’s movement and the rider’s rhythm! When the music fit the horse and rider, both the quality of the gaits and movements improved. The music enhanced both the artistic aspect and the technical side of the ride. Because rhythm was maintained!

I thought this was AMAZING, so I wanted to learn more…

I was stunned by the things I learned such as:

* Studies show that music affects our physiology. Slow music slows the heartbeat and the breathing rate as well as brings down blood pressure. Faster music speeds up these same functions.
* Listening to your favorite music is good for your cardiovascular system. Researchers have shown that joyful music has a healthy effect on blood vessel function.
* Riding to music increases your endurance and feelings of well-being. Studies show that exercising to music improves endurance by 15% and improve the “feeling states” so, people derive much greater pleasure from exercise. (Those cool endorphins!!)
* Many hospitals use music to treat patients with stress-related illnesses to stimulate the brain and relax the body.
* Music affects both sides of your brain, so whether you are a left-brain logical thinker or a right-brain artistic thinker, music helps you ride better.
* Even animals react differently to various types of music. Given a choice, rats will choose calm classical music over hard rock every time.
* Music can also influence brainwaves. Faster beats make you more alert and slower beats help you relax.
* Music creates a long-lasting change in brainwave activity. That means that music can bring lasting benefits to your state of mind, even after you’ve stopped listening.
* Music filters out background noises so that you and your horse can concentrate better.
* Music acts as an INTERNAL metronome to help you maintain a regular rhythm.
* Music puts you in a more positive state of mind, helping to keep depression and anxiety at bay.

The bottom line is… it’s fun to ride to music! Rhythm and relaxation are essential for EVERYONE including dressage riders, trail riders, hunter riders, and western pleasure riders.

Restless Leg Syndrome, also referred to as Wittmaack- Ekboms Syndrome, is such a disorder in which the patient is unable to control the urge of moving his body to curb uncomfortable sensations. The patient draws temporary relief by moving the body part that is affected. In this case the problem lies with the leg. The feeling that normally causes distress in the patient is a kind of burning sensation. The patient also sometimes feels tickling or itching sensations. The patient then resorts to leg movement, which helps him control those sensations and restore his normalcy. These sensations are caused in the muscles and as a result the sufferer surrenders to vehement leg movement to get rid of the disturbing effect.

Restless Leg Syndrome can occur at any age. This disease can strike a person in his early childhood as well. In certain cases the disease grows persistently with the age of the afflicted while in some others it vanishes with age. RLS is characterized by the movement of legs by the afflicted to get rid of certain sensations. However, at times it also affects the arms and some other parts of the human body. The painful aspect of the disease is that the patients are unable to describe the sensations properly due to their uncommon nature. The movements however provide only temporary relief to the afflicted.

According to the researches conducted by various doctors, the most common cause for this disease is a low dopamine level. Some also blame iron deficiency for the same. Patients suffering from Restless Leg Syndrome have been diagnosed with low levels of dopamine and iron in their cerebrospinal fluid as well as in the area of substantia nigra. Some of the other causes that have been ascribed to the disease are thyroid, pregnancy, Parkinsons disease, celiac disease peripheral neuropathy among others. Certain kinds of medication might also affect the dopamine levels in the brain. For instance, medication for depression or even back surgery could be harmful in some cases.

Binaural beats are particular sounds, which arouse some independent physical stimuli in the brain. The perception of these sounds helps cure certain diseases as proved by the practitioners. The Restless Leg Syndrome can also be cured through this therapy. In this phenomenon two types of tones slightly different in frequencies are made to hear by the patient. The brain perceives the beats that are below 1000 hertz.

In the case of Restless Leg Syndrome the binaural beat therapy is useful since it produces relaxation to the brain through the entrainment of brainwaves. This influences the brain in a subtle manner and produces soothing effects inside it. Certain specific types of hormones are released through the modulation of the sound frequencies. The Restless Leg Syndrome which is caused by the low level of dopamine could be cured as this level can rise naturally with the help of Binaural Beats. Through the binaural beats the glands can produce desired amount of dopamine, which reduces the restlessness in the patient and cure them of the distressing affliction.

Brainwave Entrainment Rest and Heal Using Brainwave Entrainment In The Delta Frequency

Resting and healing are two of the major reasons that we sleep and if we are not getting enough sleep, we won’t be getting much of either of those two very important things. When that happens, entraining the brain in the delta frequency, using brainwave entrainment, can help you reap the benefits of getting a good night’s sleep.

Why Do You Need To Sleep?

· Sleep is a place where you heal, learn, dream, rest, and connect to Universal Energy or your Source.

· It restores your body’s supply of energy that you use up during the day.

· Sleep repairs most muscle tissue as you doze.

· HGH, a growth hormone important for both children and adults, is released, rebuilding tissues. HGH maintains the skin, bone density, cartilage, and the joints as well as speeding up the healing process of joint and cartilage injuries. As you age, you produce less and less of this hormone, and if you compound that with not getting enough sleep, you are severely aging yourself.

· It restores mental, emotional and physical fatigue.

· Sleep enhances your health and increases your lifespan.

· It improves your skin and muscle tone. (Ever notice how pale you get when you don’t get enough sleep.)

· Getting enough of the right kind of sleep helps you make, or lay down new memories in your brain.

· It can help you connect to your Source, opening a door to a different reality, escaping your conscious physical structure (your body).

· Sleep gives you access to the secret parts of your mind where cosmic memories and secret knowledge are stored. These memories will show up as insight in your conscious, awake mind.

· It restores your youth by releasing anti-aging hormones like melatonin and DHEA.

· While asleep, hormones are released (like Serotonin) that reduce the levels of Cortisol, a stress response hormone that can, when in excess, cause disease on every level of your mind and body.

· Getting enough shut-eye will help you heal faster after a workout, reviving your system.

· If you are getting enough sleep, your immune system is enhanced.

· Sleep makes you healthier emotionally. It will help you connect better with people, increasing your empathy.

· Sleep gives your conscious mind a chance to rest so that you can connect to your unconscious mind, to problem solve.

· A good sleep will resynchronize your body’s biological clock, releasing Melatonin, a sleep hormone and 5 HTP, a hormone that regulates your mood, promoting a deeper, restful sleep.

Resting and healing are only two of the benefits of the mysterious activity called sleep. Science is still unsure what may be happening in the delta frequency while we are asleep. They do know that we spend most of our time as a fetus in this state, and that we generate a lot of these brainwaves as our body shuts down in the dying process.

Rest and heal, easily, by entraining to the delta frequency using brainwave entrainment. The brain naturally entrains to any sensory stimulus that is repeated and rhythmic, and that’s what brainwave entrainment pulses and tones do-they repeat a rhythmic sound pattern, altering your brain’s state of consciousness.

The delta brainwave frequency, when introduced to the brain in this manner, will help you get the sleep you’ve been missing.
